2010, the 10 year…

Port Douglas.

Basic itinerary:
Flights are (Qantas):
• QF702 (way up) Departing Melbourne 9:35am Thursday 27th May 2010 (arriving at Cairns midday) and
• QF655 with QF639 (flight back via Brisbane) departing 5:05pm Sunday 30th May 2010
Note: If you are not travelling with the group, we can still get you a Group Booking airfare, so if you haven’t booked your flight let us know your itinerary and we’ll see what we can do. Doc is now “friends” with the guy who organises the Qantas Group Bookings Aust-wide – you may need to take one for the group here, Doc (for a “special” discount).

Accommodation: Parrotfish Lodge http://www.parrotfishlodge.com/
The resort is right in the heart of Port Douglas, and the standard is Top Class. We have booked “executive” (I made that part up) private rooms, and the resort has its own pool and bar. The clientele is mostly older couples (retirees, etc), as you can see from the website – should suit us to a tee!

Transport: We’re were originally looking at hiring a bus and driver for the Cairns-PD transfers, but are now toying with the idea of 2 x 12-seaters for the duration of the weekend. Then we can use them if need be on the day off, and to get to and from the courses.

Day Off: Some ideas have been floated about Saturday: the Day Off. A possible fishing trip (Lukey was chattin about this); drive to the rainforest, get drunk by the pool, etc, etc. The committee won’t be organising anything, but will certainly assist anyone who wants to take the reins on activities for the day.

Oh, and don’t forget, it’s Carnivale: http://www.carnivale.com.au/

Thursday 27th May 2010
Check in Tullamarine one hour before flight (8:35am) don’t forget to cater for bad traffic on the way to the airport. We’ll organise group transport closer to the trip. A reminder: Don’t forget to pack reasonably light, to ensure we have to luggage restriction issues.

Tee times: 11:15am
Motorised buggy included.
Slumming it a little with the golf – sorry lads

Cheers,
RRGC Committee.
